Owners:
I am Frances Morton. I own 3 Eagles Ranch and consider raising Boers a labor of love. After being growing up in my family's motel business in Florida where I had lots of critters (horses, chickens, peacocks, dogs and even a pet alligator!), I endured city life for most of my adulthood. Despite that fact, I longed to move to the country and become "Ellie May" once again.
My background is in teaching psychology and practicing as a Master's level counselor. Having retired from the VA and the USAF Reserve (as a First Sergeant), I found the chance to make a break for the country. I started to raising Boers in 2006 after moving from the big city of Tacoma to rural Lewis County Washington. The country life does agree with me!
Luckily, I still teach at Pierce College in Tacoma. The goats appreciate the things that having a regular income buys them. In the meantime, I'm slowly building and improving my Boer herd. Learning is dear to me and I really like the challenge ofbecoming an "internet-trained" veteranarian and choosing good breedings to produce great goats.
My family consist of two (much) older sisters, two nephews and a niece. They are
supportive of my goat lady endeavor. It means the world to me to have them in my
life! My nephew, Bill, is in the Army and currently serving his second tour in Iraq.
Pauline Chambers ("Ellie May" II) is my best friend and partner in crime. She helps
with the critters and provides the techincal expertise needed to make any business run
efficiently. She is also an Air Force veteran of tours in Bosnia and Somalia. Her
nephew is in the Army serving in Kuwait at this time.
Please feel free to puruse this site and let us know what you think of it. We think you'll find that we truly love our goats and it shows!
